About Us

About Winery

Imperator Winery is the only winery in Serbia that produces organic grapevine and wine in conformity with EU regulations and Serbian legislation. The winery is situated in the village of Rakovac, at its main road, within the Salaxija Winery.

It possesses a wine tasting hall for up to 50 persons, and a kitchen for a complete enological and gastronomical experience of organic food and wine. Within the winery there is a wine store, where in addition to the current harvests, certain archive wines may be purchased. Wine tastings are guided by sommelier / technologist, exclusively by appointment several days ahead.

In addition to classic wine tasting, we also organize Wine Schools for Lovers and various team buildings.

Organic Imperator wines are produced solely from grapes from our own organic vineyard.

The vineyard was erected in 2009, and was awarded the status of organic in 2015 for both grapes and wine. The status is renewed annually.

Remark: Over the harvesting season and grape processing we are unable to organize wine tasting, due to the technical reasons.

Variety composition: 100% Rhein Riesling

Harvest: 2015

Vineyard: Grape is cultivated under the method of biodynamics of 164 mnv, and the wine is produced according to the principle of organic production.

Maturation: stainless steel, bottle

Description of the wine: vivid yellow color, crystal clarity. Scent resembles ripe quince, honeycomb and sweet meadow flowers and signifies ripeness and full body. On the palates, the wine is smooth, full, succulent and honey-like, with distinguishable variety and ripeness. Excellent acids, balanced alcohol, fresh, savory and mineral, with lingering finish. Ripe and available for enjoyment.

Wine type: dry white wine

Recommended serving temperature: 10-12C

Alcohol content: 12,5%

Food pairing: Good partner of meals and salads based on white meat and white fish. Finger food with fresh fish, like sushi. Young cheeses.

Variety composition: 100% Traminer

Harvest: 2015
Vineyard: Grape is cultivated under the method of biodynamics of 164 mnv, and the wine is produced according to the principle of organic production.
Maturation: stainless steel

Description of wine: Golden color, typical for the variety. The scent is rich and layered, dominated by yellow and white flowers, with signs of honeycomb and sweet homemade cakes. Excellent freshness and a hint of sweetness. Smoot, harmonious in flavor, semi-full-bodied, vibrant and fruity, with lingering succulent finish.

Food pairing: savory dishes based on Asian cuisine; white meats in curry sauce; orange cheesecake.

Variety composition: 100% Sauvignon Blanc

Vineyard: Grape is cultivated under the method of biodynamics of 164 mnv, and the wine is produced according to the principle of organic production.
Maturation: Serbian oak

Description of wine: Light yellow, crystal clear. Scent of dry flowers and mild indications of yellow tropical fruits and grass make its scent delicate and slightly mineral. Delicate and fruity. Harmonious with good freshness. Taste semi-full-bodied with vibrant acids. Characteristic for the variety and enduring. Excellent freshness and fruitiness in the finish. The new star of the Emperor’s biodynamic wine expression.

Description of wine: Ruby red color. Medium intensity. The scent resembles fresh berries, especially raspberries, with signs of vanilla and oak. Vibrant acids. Mild and succulent tannins. Elegant and harmonious wine. Extremely fruity and succulent.

Description of wine: Ruby red color. Scent of strawberry, sour cherry and cherry with hints of coffee and tobacco. A bit of cedar scent. Vibrant acids. Mild and succulent tannins. Elegant, vibrant and vivid wine. Extremely fruity and succulent. Perfectly integrated Serbian oak. To be opened at least one hour prior to consumption.

Maturation: stainless steel

Description of wine: Ripe cherry color. Scent reflects the variety and is fruity with delicate hint of noble oak. Cherry, chocolate, cedar. Sound freshness. Flavor indicates the variety and is fruity, elegant and harmonious. Cherry and spices dominating the taste make this wine an authentic expression of pinot. Ready to be enjoyed.
