About Winery

The wine cellar is situated at the exit from the city of Šid, near the local road connecting the highway Belgrade-Zagreb with the city of Šid, and has an excellent connection to the grapevine plantations.

The wine cellar has a floor, so that the fermentation process is performed on the level above the cellar where the wine is preserved and maturing. The fermentation part is patterned according to the state-of-the-art wineries, and in conformity with the latest rules and regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture, while the portion serving for maturation in barriques has the appearance of authentic old cellars.

The fermentation part possesses the equipment necessary for high-quality production of wine, while the part designated for maturation and aging of wine has been equipped with barriques of precisely defined sorts of oak and toasting, which are most conformant with varieties from our vineyards.

Grapevine plantations are situated in the wine region of Srem, on the southern slopes of the Fruška Gora Mountain, at the altitude of 220m above see and at the following latitude and longitude: 45°10’58’’ i 19°18’42’’. Land lots under grape plantations belong to the Cadastre Municipalities of Molovin and Sot, at the distance of 14km from the city of Šid and 1km from the state border with Croatia.

The area under vineyards that is currently cultivated covers 51.30 ha, and contains the following grape varieties: Traminer, Rhein Riesling, Italian Riesling, Merlot, Red Burgundy, Blau Frankische and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The assortment of vines has been projected with high expertise and planning, on the basis of the sort of the soil, climate, exposition of the terrain, etc.

White varieties, such as Traminer, Rhein Riesling and Italian Riesling are the ones having the highest yields in this area and on this soil, in terms of quality. Those are varieties for top quality white wines, which are characterized by intense and complex scent of the variety, extraordinary fullness and extractive properties, as well as an exquisite balance of acids.

The red varieties, such as Caberne Sauvignon, Blau Frankische, Red Burgundy and Merlot are also the varieties fit for production of top quality wines, which are characterized by extremely full flavor, well balanced acids, strong structure, and outstanding aromatic complex.

In order to generate the raw material of the highest quality, we apply the reduction-selective pruning and cropping of grape clusters in the veraison phase.

In addition to application of the most up-to-date technology in cultivation of grapevine, we constantly monitor and analyze the main factors which affect the quality of grape production, such as the soil, climate conditions, selection of varieties for cultivation, form of cultivation etc.

The business concept of Molowinery is focused on constant investment into nurturing of the first class vineyard and the state-of-the-art production equipment, preservation and nurturing of wine, monitoring and application of the modern scientific achievements, all with the aim of creating world-renowned wines.

Given that Molowinery has a goal of going hand in hand with worldwide tendencies, its team is trying to follow all the world trends and timely respond to all changes, as well as to adjust the product design to market requirements.
